Organisations bidding for first and second generation contracts will either have employees being TUPE’d across to the PCSPS (or another public service pension scheme) or employees re-joining the scheme under the New Fair Deal arrangements.
These organisations need to consider their options and obligations to their current and prospective employees under New Fair Deal.
Organisations with public service contracts already will have put in place a broadly comparable scheme under the old Fair Deal arrangements. For them, New Fair Deal may present an opportunity to review their pension arrangements and potentially reduce the associated risk.
