Local friends, Grahame Walker and Ryan Gibson, from Waterloo in Sefton, are taking part in a charity white collar boxing match. The event, which will take place on 14 October in Fusion Nightclub, is to raise money for the Max Lally Foundation, which was set up following the tragic case of 17 month old Max Lally who died after battling a rare form of cancer.

Prosthetic leg fundraising receives £1,000 donation

Laura Wakefield, age 27, from Speke, was tragically diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer in her foot earlier this year. This lead to her having the lower part of her leg amputated. Laura's friends and family are raising money for a prosthetic leg, which can cost in the region of £8,000. So far, they have raised over £6,600 from events including sponsored cycles, a charity football tournament and a sponsored skydive.
