Basketball Club goes cock-a-hoop for donation

4 Apr 2016

Pensions services provider MyCSP has donated £200, raised through the MyCSP Community Fund, to Caernarfon Celts, a family run basketball club based in Caernarfon, North Wales.  It’s part of the North Wales Basketball League which has teams located in areas as far afield as Bromborough on the Wirral.

Established in 2010, Caernarfon Celts Basketball Club holds weekly training sessions and welcomes children of all abilities and backgrounds, ranging from ages 9 to 18.  The Club is non-profit making and funded entirely by the nominal club fees charged.  MyCSP employee partner Lesley Broadhurst, who helps to run the Club, approached the MyCSP Community Fund to apply for a donation.

Lesley said: “We run the club as volunteers and work extremely hard to balance family life and work commitments in order to keep the club going.  We provide a safe environment for children and young adults to train in and encourage good health and wellbeing.  I’m delighted that MyCSP’s Community Fund has donated £200 and we’re extremely grateful for their support.”

Nicky Hurst, Chief Executive said, “We’re very proud of our employee partners and the fact that they get fully involved in both their communities and charitable organisations outside of work.  We’re delighted to be able to support initiatives that give back to the local community through the MyCSP Community Fund.”
