UK’s largest ever online Pension Week seminar - Paws for Pensions

18 Sep 2020

Over 5,000 Civil Service Pension Scheme members took part in Pension Awareness Week by attending the scheme’s week-long event ‘Paws for Pensions’, believed to be the UK’s largest ever participation in an online pension event.

Running from the 14-18 September, the activities, hosted by MyCSP on behalf of Civil Service Pensions, sought to raise awareness of the value of pension benefits and the importance of planning for retirement.

Five lunchtime broadcasts across the course of the week, branded ‘Live@lunch’ covered a wide variety of topics from joining the scheme, to 2015 and the road to retirement.

The week was a huge success with web hits increasing by 20% and pension portal registrations by 34%.

David Boardman, Director of Communications and Engagement, MyCSP, comments;

“Arguably it has never been more important for members to engage with their pensions and understand their benefits. With the current restrictions, we moved our usual tour of the country online and had a great response from members.  Working with our client, our week-long activities created a clear focus which delivered strong results. As a proven concept, it will pave the way to more digital engagement in future. More than 89% of post event survey respondents felt that ‘Live @lunch@ had helped them to better understand their benefits and plan for their retirement, whilst 97% want more ‘Live@lunch’ sessions in future.
